Flood Update

Here is what the water in our backyard looks like now.

You can just barely see the top of the weeping willow tree featured in the photo that I posted last night peeking out above the top of the water. The water level would still have to rise about 10 more feet to be at our back door. However, the houses at the other end of our street are already flooding. We won't be getting out of our neighborhood anytime soon either. There is only one way out, and it is under at least 4 feet of water.

I hope your house stays dry, and I hope there's a way you can help your neighbors.

Love to you, Sarah. We are praying for you! Our neighborhood, Cottonwood has about 20 houses with floodwaters inside --it was up to the mailboxes last night!!
Blog readers in the local area--call your friends in lower areas and see if they have needs--this is very serious.
Only YOU can draw your boundary lines and hold the water back, Lord.
We are praying Psalm 32:6+7 over here and asking for God to respond to our requests about the weather like He did for Eligah.
God's provision for your neighbors as well.

LOVE to your precious family!
Love,
Gillian

Hi Sarah and Daniel, this is Janice (wife of Jon who contacted you all about ordering t-shirts for our adoption fundraiser). This morning, Jon talked to his Navy "detailer" whose office is in Millington and found out their building is flooded out for a few days. Thought about you all...praying for God's protection. Grace to you.
